Vertical Cinema at STRP Biennal 2015

Next stop for Vertical Cinema is the STRP Biennial in Eindhoven on Thursday 26 March 2015. The STRP Biennial 2015 is all about the screen. Between 20 and 29 March, the industrial halls of the Klokgebouw in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, will be filled with hybrid forms of art, technology and music. Vertical Cinema is part of the STRP exhibition SCREEN ON | NO SCREEN.

Vertical Cinema: Expanded Lectures at Stedelijk

An additional programme of lectures by international speakers focuses on the history of vertical and other forms of expanded cinema and explores the future of audio-visual experiments. All lectures will be held in English, with the exception of the lecture by Bart Rutten on Sunday 23 February, which will be in Dutch.

COH & FRANK will present a new collaboration on 24 January in which video images are generated from sound output of the mixing board, in an entirely analogue transfer from sound to image as part of the Mind The Gap Nights, a collaboration between IFFR and Gonzo (Circus).

Ticket sale started! – International premiere of Vertical Cinema at IFFR 2014

The ticket sale for the international premiere of Vertical Cinema on 24 January 2014 at the International Film Festival Rotterdam has started.
The screening of the ten commissioned large-scale works will be accompanied by a lecture by Professor Erkki Huhtamo, live performances and a workshop in cooperation with Piet Zwart Institute and Filmwerkplaats Rotterdam.

Vertical Cinema Cahier now available

Vertical Cinema is a unique project featuring a series of ten commissioned vertical films made in 2013 by internationally renowned experimental filmmakers and audiovisual artists. This monumental screening of their 35 mm vertical cinemascope films premiered at the 2013 edition of the Kontraste Dark As Light Festival, where Kontraste Cahier #3 was presented.
